This feels like the most structured and productive practice I’ve had in ages now. Instead of just trying to change chords faster by blind repetition, I used the principles here: http://www.guitarnoise.com/lesson/the-glue-of-repetition/ to structure my increase in speed. So now I got up to 100bpm using 4 beats per change, I haven’t found my ceiling yet, I will find that tomorrow, then I can work at slowly increasing it over time, but at least I have a way to measure my progress now. I also found out my thinner plectrum is much better for strumming, but on the barre chords I didn’t have any success, not when having my other fingers in position on their notes, so that still needs work, but I am getting better at things day by day.
